Old Line Lavender Co.

Imagine a farm with fields of gorgeous flowers. Upon parking, you are welcomed by rows and rows of vibrant tulips, which you can pick and make into a gorgeous, colorful bouquet. Now imagine that farm is right in your backyard, if you live in Carroll County!

I was so happy to find Old Line Lavender Co. on Instagram last year, when their lavender fields were blooming. My daughter was just a few months old and as new parents, we were trying out best to make our way out of our home to show her the world. This felt like the perfect short car ride, where we could do something relaxing, low key and easy to bail on, if things went south. That is when we first met the family behind the blooms. They were all so kind and welcoming, which made the anxiety behind the trip melt away. On top of that, their lavender was gorgeous and we went home with a few sachets and a dried bouquet.

The next time we went was during one of their flower crown events, where you were able to pick your own wildflowers and turn them into a wearable flower crown. My daughter was around 6 months old then, and she was a total fuss. Even with that, the event was so fun and I was so happy we signed up for it.

Fast forward to 2022, when we heard they were opening their farm for Pick Your Own Tulips… I jumped at that opportunity. The fields were gorgeous and this time, our daughter was much more cooperative! After speaking with Jen, we made plans to take portraits of the family and the farm during golden hour.

It was truly an honor to photograph them. They are some of the sweetest, most hard-working people. If you live in or near the Carroll County, Maryland area – this place is a must visit!
